As the ten large, actual transactions at left each
reveal, companies have often looked to ICON to propose innovative
solutions.
In one instance, ICON helped two companies forge a
mutually beneficial relationship by providing the financing
to move an otherwise stalled situation forward.
In another, ICON purchased an entire brand a company
no longer felt met its strategic needs. In another, ICON
bought a surplus drug and donated it to a relief organization.
In others, ICON acquired a distressed or valueless
asset a client was prepared to write off and converted
it into credit the client used to reduce the cost of
a planned expenditure.
There
are two truisms of 21st-century corporate barter: |
 |
| 1. No two transactions
are ever the same |
 |
| 2. Without
innovative thinking on the part of the corporate-barter firm,
many transactions would not occur |
