Mark Langer has been with ICON for 14 years. Prior to moving to the sales group, Mark was responsible for developing and facilitating client opportunities with other Omnicom companies. He also focused on capacity opportunities with media and travel providers that are core to ICON’s business. In his current role as SVP of business development, Mark is responsible for developing new business for ICON.
After graduating from Tulane University in New Orleans with a BA degree in communications, Mr. Langer knew he wanted to work in media, so he took a job as an assistant media buyer with TN Media (FCB). There, he rose through the media and account-management ranks working on accounts, including A&P Supermarkets, Citibank and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Transitioning to Publicis, Langer gained additional experience supervising media planning teams serving British Airways, Qantas and others.
Langer helped grow ICON’s Omnicom partnership since the inception of the relationship. Perhaps ICON’s most significant relationship, it has been characterized by substantial revenue growth, in part due to his efforts in pioneering the development of ICON’s funding approach; including leading a deal with a major insurance company. This approach is now a core offering responsible for a significant percentage of ICON’s overall revenue. But one of his proudest accomplishments was overcoming cultural and language barriers to structure a barter deal with Panama Tourism.
Most People Don’t Know That… Langer has been known to drive hundreds of miles to see bands from New Orleans.
